People Don’t Always See It Straight Away

Lately I've realised something.

People don't always ignore what you're building because they don't care.

Sometimes they've simply heard it before.

And honestly...

In my case, I understand why.

I've had plenty of starts and stops over the years.

"I'm going to do this."

"I'm building that."

New ideas.

New directions.

New energy.

And then life happens.

Work.

Mental health.

Exhaustion.

Doubt.

Things stall.

Eventually people stop reacting to the announcement.

Not because they dislike you.

Because they're waiting to see if this one lasts.

I actually think that's fair.

We live in a world where everyone seems to be launching something.

Podcasts.

Brands.

Courses.

Businesses.

Side hustles.

Everyone is announcing.

Far fewer are still showing up six months later.

The older I get, the more I realise that consistency builds trust far more than excitement ever will.

Not the big speech.

Not the launch.

Not the announcement post.

The quiet repetition.

Showing up again.

And again.

And again.

That's why Pete George – As I See It feels different to me.

For the first time in a long time, I'm not trying to reinvent myself.

I'm simply talking about the things I've always cared about.

Photography.

Travel.

Observation.

Life.

It's not a new version of me.

It's probably the most honest version I've shared.

Maybe trust works the same way photography does.

You don't force it.

You earn it.

Slowly.

Frame by frame.

Conversation by conversation.

These days I'm less interested in convincing people.

I'd rather just keep turning up and let the work speak for itself.

Because eventually people stop listening to what you say you're going to do...
